- story -
Isolated from the world by snow, a town lies barren near the farthest station.
A town exists where ghosts flood the streets at night.
But we aren't really ghosts.
We are immortal. Unable to die, with our unending lives, we took to referring to ourselves like that.
They say this is an ideal town. A true utopia for ghosts.
“But is it really? Can you really call this place a utopia?”
This is Sayako, and her plight.
For you see, Sayako is the only one in town who doesn't truly belong.
All the while she is sharing a room with the mysterious new girl in town, Yoru.
More than anything in the world, Sayako longs to return home to her hometown.
To set off beyond the unfathomable vast desert of snow, beyond where nobody has ever gone.
To the home she could only dream was out there.
To be able to remember what she has forgotten, the thing she holds the most dear.
That is her dream.
“In a hopeless town such as this, a useless girl like me can’t help but dream.”

#1 “Welcome to town.”
“The story begins here. Long lost friends catch up, and a new ghost comes to town.”
Meet our main character, Sayoko.

Through strange chance and circumstance she runs into her old friends with whom she had grown distant,
and reunites with them once again.
For you see, The beings that live in this town aren’t human,
but have somehow or other come to be known as ‘ghosts’.
At least that’s what they call them.
They do not age, and they cannot die. In fact, they cease to change at all through the course of their endless existence.
From her close friend Sayoko has just heard about the new ghost that is rumoured to have come to town.
Living here, there is no written record of the comings and goings of the people who live here.
Sayoko knew that. She knew why...

#2 “The nameless birthday”
“Holding my own with the strange old man, the police force, a large hooligan,
the god that extends his gaze over this town, and a girl of pure perfection.
story that goes out to those that wished me a happy birthday, and those I kept waiting.”
To throw a welcome party to the new ghost in town,
Sayoko headed over to the home where her old friends Pacifica and Anna anxiously waiting at.
With a timid feeling in her gut, Sayoko works up the courage to step outside,
But is met with caution from the townsfolk who sense the presence of a stranger.

#3 “An honest day’s work, and the search for a job”
“Sayoko needed a job, and she couldn’t say for sure whether she was living the life, or simply enduring it.”
Sayoko was sharing a room with the next ghost in town, Yoru, who seemed to like to do things
On her own time and in her own ‘special’ way.
The stress from living with Yoru was beginning to grate on Sayoko. Things were growing tense, to say the least.
Taking refuge in her go-to cafe, Sayoko confided in her friends Pacifica and Anna
who both suggested a healthy amount of distant from Yoru, and prodded Sayoko to get a job.
Somehow or another Yoru joined Sayoko in her job search,
and they both hit the town together in search of their bright new futures.
Sayoko had a hard time, however, and isn’t exactly known for her ability to nail an interview.
Sayoko was getting rather down about herself, but Yoru’s presence was there...

#4 “With that girl, alone but yet together, on that fateful day”
“This was the girl I met at my deepest point of contempt.
We ate sweet treats and talked about our friend who was wronged.”
Sayoko and her friend Yoru, who toiled away together at their jobs.
But recently, the figures known as assassins,
who were commissioned by the church, have become much more of a cause for concern.
One night, by chance Sayoko runs into a girl constrained to the use of a wheelchair, Rena,
and her junior secondary partner-in-crime Met.
Rena, who has overheard a lot about Sayoko, has taken a liking to her,
And thanks to her Sayoko was able to find some respite from her rough and tumble lifestyle.
That fateful day, when Sayoko began to understand the meaning behind the attacks,
Sayoko was called upon by Pacifica, and rushed over to her house.
